The "WE-3002 type" is an airborne launch wave height and tide gauge installed in ports, coastal areas, and on offshore work vessels, designed to measure and monitor sea conditions (wave height, tide level) over long periods. It emits microwaves towards the water surface and detects the frequency difference of the microwaves reflected and returned from the water surface to measure wave height (FMCW method).
